22.07.2024

International law firm CMS is pleased to announce the promotion of Andrei Cristescu (Dispute Resolution) to Counsel as of 1 July 2024.

Based in the firm’s Bucharest office, Andrei joined CMS as an intern in 2006 and has become a highly valued advisor to the firm’s clients. He is a member of the Dispute Resolution team, and a senior member of the Litigation Arbitration Insurance and Employment team, whose practice focuses on high-value international and domestic litigation and arbitration. Andrei's experience includes representing multinational companies in construction disputes, product liability, insurance, insolvency, debt recovery and commercial claims. He is renowned for tackling a broad range of work on behalf of his clients and has worked on all major arbitration, litigation and insolvency cases of the firm. He frequently handles complex insolvency matters and high value post-transaction proceedings and is well versed in handling complex alternative Dispute Resolutions cases.

Horea Popescu, Managing Partner of CMS Romania and Head of CEE Corporate M&A, says: “It has been a real pleasure for me to see Andrei grow into his role and become a trusted and respected member of the team by colleagues and clients alike. Andrei is a true reflection of the CMS values, working collaboratively and mentoring junior colleagues. I wish him every success in his new role. This year, CMS marks its 25th anniversary in Bucharest—an impressive milestone, which we are proud to share with Andrei, who celebrates his 18th year with us! Thanks to Andrei's contribution and that of all our team, we have grown to become one of the country’s largest international law firms, offering expert legal guidance across various industry sectors and commercial domains.”
